State spends Rs 4098 crore under MGNREGA till November-end
The Orissa government has spent Rs 4097.97 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) from 2005-06 till November end of 2010-11.
The total fund release under this programme in 2010-11 has been Rs 4163.93 crore till November end which includes Central release of Rs 3777.42 crore and state government's release of Rs 386.50 crore.
"A total of 3122 lakh mandays have been generated under MGNREGA in the state from 2005-06 to November 2010. This includes 552.44 lakh mandays generated in this fiscal till the end of November”, minister for Panchayati Raj Prafulla Samal said in the state assembly.The state government spent Rs 715.87 crore till the end of November in the current financial year out of a total fund release of Rs 1202.70 crore.
The state spent Rs 976.45 crore in 2009-10, Rs 1153.73 crore in 2008-09, Rs 791.93 crore in 2007-08, Rs 890.18 crore in 2006-07 and Rs 379.52 crore in 2005-06.
